General Terms and Conditions of Sale

Article 1 – Duration of Stay
The client, by accepting this contract for a fixed duration, cannot under any circumstances claim any right to remain on the premises.

Article 2 – Confirmation of a Reservation
Stays are guaranteed by providing a complete credit card number. No charge will be made before the start of the stay; the client must pay the full amount of the stay upon arrival, by credit card, check, or cash.
For any reservation made more than one month in advance, and only in this case, the payment of a deposit may be accepted. It will be cashed upon receipt and deducted from the bill upon your arrival.
Amount of the deposit:
– for 1 to 4 nights, the total amount of the stay
– beyond 4 nights, the first 4 nights + 10% of the remaining nights
Deposit payment methods: either by bank check (made out to L’Esprit des Chartrons) or by bank transfer. The reservation becomes firm only after the deposit has been cashed.

Article 3 – Cancellation by the Client
Any cancellation must be notified in writing to the owner.
Cancellation before the start of the stay:
– if the cancellation occurs less than fifteen days before the start date of the stay for stays of 1 to 2 nights, or less than one month for stays of 3 nights or more, the owner will retain 30% of the amount of the stay.
– if the cancellation occurs between 48 and 24 hours before the start date of the stay, the owner will retain 60% of the total amount of the reservation.
– if the cancellation occurs less than 24 hours before the start date of the stay, the owner will retain the total amount of the reservation.
If the client does not show up before 7 pm on the start date of the stay, the owner may use the guest rooms and will retain the total amount of the reservation.
In the case of a shortened stay, the price corresponding to the cost of the accommodation remains fully due to the owner.

Article 4 – Cancellation by the Owner
The owner must inform their client in writing and must offer them alternative accommodation with equivalent services. The client, without prejudicing claims for compensation for any damages suffered, will be immediately refunded any sums already paid.

Article 5 – Check-in Time
Rooms are available from 5 pm. The client must notify if arriving after 8 pm. The parking space will only be made available when taking possession of the room.

Article 6 – Check-out Time
On the day of departure, the room must be vacated before 12 pm, with the parking space being left available until 4:30 pm.

Article 7 – Tourist Tax
The tourist tax is collected by the owner and then passed on to the Public Treasury. This tax partially finances the Bordeaux Tourist Office. It is included in the room’s sale price.

Article 8 – Room Changes
Without the client being able to claim any compensation, the owner reserves the right to change the room initially reserved by the client to a room of the same or higher capacity. In such a case, the cost of the reservation remains unchanged.

Article 9 – Occupants
The number of occupants must be in accordance with that agreed upon at the time of reservation. Otherwise, the owner reserves the right to refuse clients; note that the Montaigne room cannot accommodate children. No visitors, except with prior agreement of the owners, will be accepted within the guest house.

Article 10 – Pets
To avoid disturbing other occupants, pets are not accepted at L’Esprit des Chartrons. If this clause is not respected by the client, the refusal to accept pets and their owners by the owner of the guest rooms cannot be considered a modification or a breach of contract on the part of the owner. Therefore, in case of the client’s departure, no refund can be considered.

Article 11 – Lifestyle, Use of Premises
To ensure the tranquility of the place and the comfort of its guests, the client agrees to respect the rules of conduct displayed in the rooms and in these general terms and conditions of sale. Furthermore, guests are requested not to smoke in the rooms and to respect the tranquility of the place.
The client agrees to return the rooms in perfect condition at the end of the stay and to declare and financially assume any possible damage for which they might be responsible. Children are under the sole responsibility of their parents. The kitchen is not left at the guests’ disposal.

Article 12
These terms and conditions of sale are subject to change at any time without notice. The payment of a deposit or the provision of a credit card number implies acceptance and compliance with these general terms and conditions of sale.
