Terms and conditions of stay
in a bed and breakfast at l’Esprit des Chartrons
Article 1 – Duration of stay: The customer accepting the present contract concluded for a fixed period
will not be able under any circumstances to prevail himself of an unspecified right to the maintenance in the places.
Article 2 – Booking validation:
Stays are guaranteed by the provision of a full credit card number. No
direct debit will be made before the start of the stay, and the customer must pay the full
amount of the stay on arrival, by credit card, cheque or cash.
For bookings made more than one month in advance, and only in this case, a deposit
may be accepted. It will be cashed on receipt and deducted from the invoice on your arrival.
Amount of the deposit:
▪ for 1 to 4 nights, the entire stay
▪ for more than 4 nights: the first 4 nights + 10% of the remaining nights.
Method of payment of the deposit: either by cheque (payable to Esprit des Chartrons),
or by bank transfer. The
reservation is not binding until the deposit has been cashed.
Article 3 – Cancellation by the customer: All cancellations must be notified to the owner in writing.
▪ Cancellation before the start of the stay:
✓ if the cancellation occurs less than fifteen days before the start date of the stay for
stays of 1 to 2 nights, or less than one month for stays of 3 nights or more, the
owner will retain 30% of the amount of the stay.
✓ if cancellation occurs between 48H and 24H before the start date of the stay, the
owner will retain 60% of the total amount of the booking.
✓ if cancellation occurs less than 24H before the start date of the stay, the owner
will retain the full amount of the reservation.
■ If the customer does not show up before 7 p.m. on the scheduled start date of the stay, the
owner may dispose of his guest rooms and will retain the full amount of the
reservation.
▪ In the event of a shortened stay, the price corresponding to the cost of the accommodation remains
acquired in full by the owner.
Article 4 – Cancellation by the owner: The owner must inform the customer in writing and must
offer alternative accommodation with equivalent services. The customer, without prejudice to any recourse
for compensation for any damage suffered, will be reimbursed immediately for any sums already
paid.
Article 5 – Arrival time:
Rooms are available from 5pm. The customer must inform us of any arrival after 8pm.
The parking space will only be made available when the customer takes possession of the room.
Article 6 – Departure time:
On the day of departure, the room must be vacated by 12pm, the parking space being left at
disposal until 4.30pm.

Article 7 – Visitor’s tax:
The visitor’s tax is collected by the owner, who then transfers it to the Public Treasury. This tax
partly finances the Bordeaux Tourist Office. It is included in the price of the
room.
Article 8 – Change of rooms:
Without the customer being able to claim any compensation, the owner reserves the right to
change the room initially booked by the customer for a room of the same capacity or
higher capacity. In such a case, the cost of the reservation remains unchanged.
Article 9 – Occupants:
The number of occupants must be in accordance with that agreed at the time of booking. If this is not the case,
the owner reserves the right to refuse guests; please note that the Montaigne room cannot accommodate
children. No visitors will be admitted to
the guest house without the prior agreement of the owners.
Article 10 – Pets:
In order not to disturb the other occupants, pets are not accepted at l’Esprit des
Chartrons. In the event of non-compliance with this clause by the customer, the refusal to accept animals and their
owners by the owner of the guest rooms cannot be assimilated to a modification or a
breach of contract on the owner’s initiative. Consequently, in the event of the customer’s departure, no
reimbursement can be considered.
Article 11 – Art of living, use of the premises:
To ensure the tranquillity of the premises and the comfort of guests, the customer undertakes to comply with the instructions
for good manners set out in the rooms and in these general terms and conditions of sale.
We also ask that you refrain from smoking in the rooms and respect the peace and quiet of
.
The customer undertakes to return the rooms in perfect condition at the end of the stay and to declare, and assume
financially, any damage for which he may be responsible.
Children are the sole responsibility of their parents.
Guests are not free to use the kitchen.
Article 12 – The present conditions of sale may be modified at any time without prior notice. The
payment of a deposit or the communication of a credit card number implies the acceptance and the
respect of the present general conditions of sale.
Article 13 – In accordance with the law of January 6, 1978, amended on January 8, 2018, you have a
right to access and rectify data concerning you. The Maison d’Hôtes l’Esprit des
Chartrons undertakes not to pass on to other companies or organizations the information that you
have communicated to it.
